Muhangi Unveils Championship Belts Ahead of Boxing Champions League Finals

Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) president and Kampala Central parliamentary aspirant Moses Muhangi has officially unveiled the championship belts that will be up for grabs at this year’s Boxing Champions League finals due this Friday, Boxing Day, at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
The simple unveiling ceremony was held on Wednesday in Kamwokya, a Kampala suburb, setting the tone for what promises to be an exceptional climax to the 2025 boxing season.
The belts will be awarded to champions in each weight category.
Speaking at the unveiling, Muhangi hailed the steady growth of the Boxing Champions League, noting improved competition, rising boxer welfare, and enhanced presentation of the sport.
“This year’s competition has been intense and highly competitive. The quality of boxing continues to improve, and the belts reflect the value and prestige we want to attach to our champions,” Muhangi said, adding that boxing remains the Uganda’s top sports disciplines.
The 27 confirmed fights set to light up Lugogo on Friday. Each boxer taking part in the championship will receive a match-day token of Shs150,000, a move UBF says is aimed at motivating athletes and supporting their preparation and this has been the culture since the season began.
The highlight of the night will be the main event featuring national team boxers Farahat Manirola and Innocent Amoko, a clash expected to draw massive attention from boxing fans.
