Hajjat Zulaika Reaffirms Support as Kawempe Muslim Ladies Celebrate League Triumph
KAMPALA – Kawempe Muslim Secondary School head teacher and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC president Hajjat Zulaika Kibirige has reaffirmed the club’s commitment to supporting the newly crowned Finance Trust FUFA Women Super League champions as they prepare for the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League in Rwanda this August.
Although she was unable to attend the club’s victory dinner at Basmat Arena in Kawempe on Saturday night due to other official engagements, Hajjat Kibirige sent a congratulatory message and a financial token of appreciation to the playing and technical staff through the club’s vice president, Mr. Ssengoba Ahmed.
“I want to congratulate the team for winning the Super League trophy. It is not something that is easy to achieve because the battle involved 12 teams, but we emerged as champions. That is something we need to celebrate,” her message read.
She also pledged continued support as the team prepares for regional competition.
“As Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, we pledge to continue supporting the team during the CECAFA zonal qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League in Rwanda this August. We believe we can also win that trophy because our focus is to become champions of Africa,” she added.
The dinner was organised to celebrate Kawempe Muslim Ladies’ second Women’s Super League title, which they clinched on the final day of the 2025/26 season after defeating Olila Women FC 3-0. Their closest challengers, She Corporate FC, failed to secure the victory they needed against She Maroons, confirming Kawempe Muslim as league champions.
In addition to rewarding the entire playing and technical staff, the club recognised two standout performers from the title-winning campaign. Team captain Agnes Nabukenya received the Winning Captain Award for her leadership, while striker Latifah Nakasi was presented with the Goal Machine Award after scoring 15 league goals in her debut season at the club.
The celebrations attracted current players, club officials, supporters and several former Kawempe Muslim stars, including Hadija Nandago and Rebecca Nakato, who joined in celebrating the club’s latest success.
Having wrapped up their domestic celebrations, Kawempe Muslim Ladies now turn their attention to the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers in Rwanda, where they will be making their second appearance in the competition after finishing third on their debut.
