FUFA Women’s Super League: Monday to Decide Who’s Loyal To Christ As UCU Takes on Martyrs on Semis
The two Christian institutional clubs, Uganda Christian University Lady Cardinals and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC will be facing off on Monday in the 2021 FUFA Women’s Super League tourney semifinals at Njeru Technical Center.
The encounter which will be played at 12noon tomorrow at Njeru Technical Center, will see Uganda Martyrs looking for it’s second competitive win against UCU Lady Cardinals.
In simple terms, it’s going to be a battle between Catholics and Angelicans.
The Kidda’s assistant skipper and custodian, Daphine Nyayenga is confident that all her targets will be filled as well as those of the club because she is more fit than she was in Group.
“I will do all it takes to push my team to the next level, I am very conversant that I will perform to my expectations on the semi finals which is to be the best player in addition to that my target this season is winning the golden glove.
I have gained fitness because the last time I played I was a bit un fit.” Nyayenga told this website.
Uganda Martyrs came as second in Group A while UCU topped Group B.
UCU Lady Cardinals are also targetting to win the title according to their assistant coach Assiimwe Simon.
This will be their fifth time of meeting in a serious competition, the previous four meetings saw the Cardinals winning twice, drawing once and Martyrs have only one win and it was a 3-1 score.
UCU Lady Cardinals to win the third time against Martyrs’, their key players in Hasifa Nassuna, Shadia Nankya who will be facing her former bosses must be on top of their game.
To stop the attacks and display of UCU, Gloria Namugerwa, Kevin Nakacwa and Anitah Namata also have to pull their socks up.
In the other day’s second semifinal, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at 9am will take on Lady Doves FC.
According to team news, Juliet Nalukenge who never finished group stage games due to examinations, she returned back in Kawempe’s squad though they will be without Stella Musibika and Asia Nakibuuka who are still having papers.
Lady Doves FC have no any injury worries and ready for the encounter.
