Kawempe Muslim 2-1 UCU Lady Cardinals 

She Corporate 0(3)-0(4) Olila High School

Allen Nassazi was the bright star for Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC on Sunday morning at Kawempe Muslim ground when they were  dumping out UCU Lady Cardinals out of the women’s Cup at round of 16.

Nassaazi came off the bench to score a brace that helped Kawempe to come from a goal down and beat UCU 2-1 to  propel to quarterfinals of the 2023 Women’s Cup edition. The forward replaced Rebecca Nakato in the early minutes of second half.

UCU first had a lead through a brilliant goal from former Kawempe Muslim forward, Sharon Nadunga and the visitors won the first 45 minutes.

The game felt Allen Nassaazi’s impact in the 56th minute when she headed Kawempe’s equalizer in the back of the net with the ball came off the corner kick laid by Jolly Kobusinge.

Allen came back with a super strike in the 76th minute to hands Kawempe the lead and eventually the winner of the day.

Though Hadija Nalongo made two penalty saves against Shakirah Nyinagahirwa and Hadija Nandago respectively.

In the other games played on Sunday, Olila High School eliminated She Corporate at MUBS Arena Nakawa 5-4 via spot kicks following a goalless draw in normal time while Elite league side, She Maroons FC went at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium and dumped out Rines SS WFC, the side also used penalty shoots. It ended 2-2 in normal time and She Maroons won it via spot kicks 5-4.

Uganda Martyrs WFC also on road, beat She Game 2-0.

The quarters will be played next month.
