Robert Kiwanuka beats three men in contest to succeed Charles Masiko as Uganda Youth Football Association Chairman.

In the Special Interest Groups’ elections held at FUFA House Mengo on Saturday 8th May 2021 saw Kiwanuka earning 18 votes to beat his close competitor on the post, KJT’s Director Kabugo Mansoor who managed 17 while Farouk Kigongo gained only two votes.

The results states that Mansoor Kabugo has become UYFA delegate taking a post which has been occupied by Farouk Kigongo in the ending term while Rays of Grace Academy Director, Kiwanuka Roberts will be the chairperson for the next four years.

After winning the elections Kiwanuka hinted on what he target during his term “As we have been doing thing at our Academy, Rays of Grace, we are going to shift the same idea to UYFA, I am elected to help my colleagues to improve mostly on their facilities, because we have to shade a good picture in youth football.”

We have to improve our systems and publications, we have to improve our publicity, youth football is really doing well in Uganda but it is not popular at the level it deserves because people are not seeing what we do.

We have a team that qualified for World Cup, our U17 and 15 are doing well so we need enough publicity and a good picture to sell outside
