Fortebet Real Stars: ‘Wait for October Maybe but this is Mine’, Husina Kobugabe beats Kasirye, Mbabazi on Badminton September Gong
Husina Kobugabe returned to Fortebet Real Stars Awards podium after a while of no show, the star scooped the September gong.
The gold medal won in Benin International, bronze and Silver from Cameroon badminton championship guided Husina Kobugabe to win the accolade for the best Badminton player in the month of September.
Husina beat her counterpart Gladys Mbabazi who had only a gold medal in the month of September and Brian Kasirye who settled for silver in the same month.
Speaking after win the accolade at the award event held on Tuesday at Lazio Restaurant Kololo, Husina thanked the organizers and revealed that the award is a great motivation for ahead of the forthcoming International championship which is Uganda International Future Series.
“Today’s award has given me some encouragement and I very happy because people are out there who are seeing us and noticing the hard work we put in everyday, so am very grateful and thanks to them.
Last month I got a bronze in women’s singles, a gold medal in women doubles, that was in Benin and a silver medal in women doubles in Cameroon International Series.
This award is telling me that not to give up to keep going, people seeing the hard work, so I am going to go on court knowing that I will be rewarded not just play nothing goes noticed, so this award is giving me motivation to keep going and hope for better performance in the next tournament.” Says Husina Kobugabe.
Husina is not the only one who got the September recognition, there were other four who received the awards.
On form Kimera Kenneth , striker from Gomba Lions (Sazza) and Wakiso Giants FC walked away with best football player of the month award
The Luddo Africa Nation’s championship most valuable player and trophy winner, Emmanuel Mubiru took that of Luddo category as Olivia Nalubega scoop the one for Kabaddi. Massangamzira took that of Rugby.
