Inside the 11th day of the 42 days of lockdown directed by President Museveni as one of the ways to curb COVID-19 Pandemic in the country, Uganda Table Tennis Association continued to extend support to more National players.

Yesterday the side added 17 players on the list to get the financial support of 20000/- each and they received that money via mobile money.

According to the Association chairman, Jaggwe Robert, the Association got financial aid worth USD100 from former Table Tennis player, Ssebbowa John who heard their cry towards giving hand to athletes of the game in this second lockdown.

Good news as UTTA advances more Covid Relief food Assistance,

UTTA Received a 100 US Dollar Boost from our good friend and former National Top Seed Mr. Sebbowa John and we thus added 17 more beneficiaries to our Covid Relief food Package.”

This means that so far 37 players have benefited from this initiative, 21 girls/ladies and 16 boys/gents and Jaggwe said that they are still lobbying for more because their Members are not well in this season.

He continued to ask National Council of Sports to wake up and give a hand to the federations like that of Kenya did.

Kenya provided Food Assistance to all its Athletes. Let us also try to help ours here in Uganda. As Federations we are the ones always with these Athletes, Coaches and even many of our Sports Journalists. I want to tell you that many of these people are really suffering. Let us do something as Sports. I once again request NCS to kindly look into this urgently.” Said Jaggwe Robert.
