Badminton: Seven Off to Benin for Africa Junior Championship
The All Africa U19 Junior Badminton championship return in action after two years of absence, and Uganda Badminton Association has sent a contingent of seven player under Coach Ronald Lule.
The team is set to travel on Sunday night from Entebbe International Airport to Benin where they will have to face competition with other 13 Africa nations which include; hosts Benin, Egypt, South Africa, among others.
The competition is scheduled to take place between 26th to 1st. September, 2021.
The Chairman of Uganda Badminton Association Annet Nakamya has hinted on the readiness of the team after a month of preparation despite lockdown challenges.
Nakamya believes that the competition will help the players get exposed and elevate them to the senior team.
“Our players have prepared well for the last one and half month. I have seen them in training and they are very ready to go out and compete. This tournament will help elevate our players to the senior team. It will also help in exposing them so I expect the best.”Stated Nakamya, the Association chairperson while flagging off the team at Sharing Youth Centre at Nsambya on Saturday afternoon.

Emudu Expeditor (Captain), Makande Paul, Nalowoza Tracy, Fadilah Shamikah, Guna Kusal, Abedi Musa Bukenya and Ssempiri Abdul
