Kayunga DFA Honors Masaza Cup, Adjusts Matchday 3 Fixtures
For over years Buganda Masaza Cup has gone a head to top the most loved amateur organized football tournament in the country, Uganda and for the last two (2) years supporters have missed the joy of the games on the pitch just watching games on TV.
Since the president of the republic of Uganda, His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni gave green lights to sports and opened the country fully the wait is no more. In the 2021 finals, Buwekula will battle Buddu in the finals on Saturday 5th, March 2022 at St Mary`s Stadium, Kitende.
Though Bugerere (Kayunga District) was eliminated in group stages, District Football Association leaders were forced to extend their 4th Division League fixtures and join the Kingdom and all football lovers to watch the most loved amateur tournament back in the stadium with full capacity in the stands.
“Being one of the District in Buganda Kingdom we were forced to adjust our fixtures because when club officials, DFA leaders and other football stakeholders attend to such matches, we learn something as far as organization is concerned”. Said, Steven Bogere Balikoowa, the chairperson Kayunga District Football Association.
After the adjustment of the fixture, four games will be played on Sunday 6th March 2022 on four different playgrounds.
Kayunga Light College-Rays of Grace FC will play hosts to Busaana Select football club at Rays of Grace Junior School playground, Nazigo football club will pay a visit to Ssezibwa Bukamba at Namulanda Church of Uganda, Kawoomya hosts Bus Park Kirindi at Kavule Primary School while Ndeeba will visit Bbaale United at Kitimbwa R/C playground.
Over the weekend, four matches were played where Kayunga United football club got a walkover from Ssezibwa Bukamba football club, Kawoomya defeated Busaana Select football club by 3-0 away in Busaana, Kayunga Light College-Rays of Grace defeated Bus Park Kirindi by 2-0 in Kirindi and Ndeeba Football club lost to Nazigo football club at home by 1-0.
