Youth Football: UYFA Reveals New Executive, Standing Committees
The Uganda Youth Football Association, UYFA has today, Saturday, 10th July 2021 held it’s Annual General Assembly ahead of the 97th FUFA Elective AGM scheduled for August this year.
In the Assembly that was held at the Association’s office at Lungujja Kampala at the FUFA Special Interest Groups home, they revealed the new executive committee that will be headed by Rays of Grace Academy Director Kiwanuka Roberts and the other standing committees.
“We have had a successful Assembly because we planned for it before. Delegates were sensitized about the trend, because of COVID-19. Said New UYFA Chairman.
“We have looked at the data base for Academy registration and Players data base for all Academies which in turn will help in age differences and creating the right age category competitions. Regional empowerment where Academies come from.”
“In the Assembly, we talked of Governance as one of the priority by having right secretariat, ensuring the use of technologies that no matter the location all information is online and visible”

Chief guest, the FUFA Deputy CEO Humphrey Mandu congratulated the outgoing and the incoming leadership for the spirit of the game, giving hope for the future of Youth Football in Uganda.
“As the Federation (FUFA) we are glad to have this kind of young Men who are vibrant with very articulate ideas of taking Youth football a head. The Federation is very much a ware that the Youth starts the convey belt and the parent body deliver at the end”
“With this concept, FUFA will continue supporting the Youth Football Association with all the facilitation in terms of Finance, Capacity Building, Infrastructure and Governance structures as they are very important to have successful Association.

Outgoing Chairman John Bosco Masiko encouraged new executive to put in more effort on the abilities of the Academy not matter the location because they always need follow up in order to match with the trend today.
For starters, Kiwanuka replaces long serving Chairman of the Association, John Bosco Masiko as per the concluded Elections.
Three Football Academies were put on waiting to be confirmed as full members of Uganda Youth Football Association while over Ten (10) were approved in the AGM.
The three Academies denied are Dalton Soccer Academy Lwengo of Buganda Region found in 2019, Divine Athletic Sports Academy Rubaga of Kampala formed in 2015 and Wagagai Warriors Soccer Academy Entebbe also from Buganda Region started in2011. These Academies were given more time to submit in the supporting and appropriate documents for approval before the executive committee.

The Fourteen Academies which were approved are Mbale Kids Soccer Academy, Mbale Sonset Soccer Academy, Amerigo Youth Soccer Academy Jinja, Youth Environment Service Academy (YES) Busia all from Eastern Region.
Buganda Region has Wakatayi Soccer Academy Luweero, Jean Sseninde United Academy Wakiso, Sparrows Sports Club Wakiso and FISPA Masaka.
Everton Foundation Uganda Academy from Kawempe of Kampala Region and Uganda Youth Football Academy also from Kawempe but this one need clarity on the name.
Ishaka Ruins Soccer Academy and Kigezi Soccer Academy from Kabale are the only two approved Academies from Western Region.
Northern Region has Kona Abicial Sports Academy Agago and Friends of Good will Soccer Academy from Apacia as the approved new Academies.
Few members physically attended the meeting at Lungujja due to COVID-19 Pandemic, the rest attended via zoom basing from their regions and locations, and in this majorly virtual AGM, members passed the budget for new financial year 2021/22 at the same time they passed a new policy dubbed, Child Protection Policy.
