Pilsner Monthly Awards: Two Red Eagles Fly High Past Tax Collectors,Giants From Wakiso Combined

Everything this year goes in a right path for the Wankulukuku boys, the Red Eagles again fly high past all their Competitors.

The Express FC duo, coach Wasswa Bbosa and on-form forward Erick Kambale crowded the best of Month of May by Pilsner Lager.

The two best their four fellow competitors in categories of best coach and player respectively.

To beat the rest in players’ category, Express FC forward scored eight goals only for the month of May compared to URA’s Steven Mukwala who had five on his name and Wakiso Giants’ Vianne Ssekajugo who scored six.

Basing on those statistics, the organizers and online voters saw Kambale fitting to take May gong accompanied with a cash prize of one million shillings.

Wasswa Bbosa, the Red Eagles tactician, beat his fellow coaches in Douglas Bamweyana of Wakiso Giants and Sam Ssimbwa of Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club to lift the accolade.

In his guidance, Express moved two places in the month of May, from third to top position accompanied with five wins in six fixtures. 

“I am happy to win this though I would have won it Earlier than today” Wasswa Bbosa said after receiving the accolade at the event held today at Kati Kati Restaurant Lugogo.

Winning along with my player is something beautiful, for Kambale, it is very good for his future, he is a Ugandan young player who is promising to have a great future, and this will push him to work even harder to get back to this place for another awards” Wasswa Bbosa.

Before receiving this accolade, late last week, Africa Soccer Zone ranked Bbosa among the best 15 club coaches in Africa this year so far. He takes the 12th position, it’s only him and Sam Ssimbwa of URA FC are the Ugandans on the list. 

 “I am happy to be recognized at that level, I have improved players, I found Express FC in red zone, now they are chasing for the title that’s why I said that I would have won this Pilsner awards earlier than this, People are there seeing what we are doing.” 

This is the second consecutive month when the winners come from one Club.

The month of April saw both awards going to Solotilo Bright Stars when Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte and his boss Baker Mbowa were announced the best of April.
