The High Priest, Respected Chief Paapa Masagazi Cliff Richard Musangogwantamu Majwala,

The Industrious Chairman, KYASI BWANIKA,

Secretary General Charles Luswata,

And all Esteemed Members, my dear sisters and brothers,

Yesterday was not just a meeting. It was a reawakening. It was the ancestors clapping for us in Katooke.

We have planted ideas, and ideas, like seeds, will make roots for our family. A tree with deep roots does not fear the storm.

Let this sink into our hearts: No man is an island.

One finger cannot pick lice. One hand cannot tie a bundle. One man cannot build a home alone. We need each other.

TODAY, WE HAVE DOUBLE JOY – SENGA TEREZA MUKOMUGABE KORETA @ 100 YEARS!

As we yoke together as Petero Kizza Wakulanume forever, we also lift our hands to heaven to celebrate a living miracle.

Our own Senga Tereza Mukomugabe Koreta – 100 YEARS!

Can you imagine? 100 years, and her sight is still clear. She does not use spectacles. She writes with her own hand! That is not just age; that is a blessing from Katooke. That is the pure clay, the clay from which she was made, from Katooke, Kifuuta, Kyotera, Buddu – our home!

She is not just a woman. She is our library. She is our archive. She is our 1st Generation.

I am the 2nd Generation. Behind us, we have the 3rd, the 4th, and now the 5th Generation is running in the compound. We cannot think the same; we cannot have the same. Everyone has his own luck. But we all tap from one luck, one blood, to keep the bond and to anchor our lives to the god

of Katooke, Kifuuta, Kyotera, Buddu.

Our living library, Senga Tereza, the 1st Generation, and the generations that follow. One blood, one heritage, one family, rooted in Katooke, Kifuuta, Kyotera, Buddu.

WHO ARE WE? KNOW OUR ROOT

We are Mutima Omuyanja – Akabilo Mawoowolo!

The 1st commandment is: we eat meat, we enjoy liquor, and we love. That’s what Jjaajja Tekera Nanziri Digidda used to tell us about our clan.

Our root is not in Naziba, Sseguku, Entebbe Road, alone. Our root is in Katooke, Kifuuta, Kyotera, Buddu.

Our great Jjaajja, Jjaajja Maaka Nkalitezala Mwavutakwana, is our greatest Jjaajja.

His son, Jjaajja Musangogwanta, is our great Jjaajja.

His son, Jjaajja Muguluma, is the one who gave us land in Kifuuta, Kyotera, Buddu – he secured our anchor.

Then came our hero, Jjaajja Petero Kizza Wakulanume Musangogwanta.

In 1922, he left Katooke, Kifuuta, Buddu, and settled in Naziba, Sseguku, on Entebbe Road. Why? Because he was a public servant of the Buganda Government. He was a respected Gombolola Chief who served in the hard islands – Ssese Islands and Buvuma Islands. He was a man of the Kingdom. I just wonder how, in 1922, these Jjaajja walked and travelled all the way from Katooke, Kifuuta, to Naziba, Sseguku, during that time when lions, leopards, and even misambwa were moving freely.

And when others were sleeping, what was Jjaajja doing? From the 1930s to the 1970s, in Naziba, Sseguku, this Jjaajja was a farmer of substance – he grew cotton, coffee, and nanansi on Entebbe Road! He was not a lazy man. He taught us that work is heritage. Pineapples, coffee, and cotton.

So, you see, we are not just people from nowhere. We have a history. We have a hometown.

The 1st commandment of Mutima Omuyanja: We eat meat, enjoy liquor, and love.

What joins us is bigger than what separates us.

What separates us? Small quarrels, distance, pride, gossip of a day.

What joins us? Blood. The same clay from Katooke, Kifuuta. The same totem. The same soil of Buddu. The same God who saw us in the womb.

God is always on our side. And the gods – the living spirits of our ancestors from Katooke, Kifuuta, in Kyotera, Buddu – they are touching our lives. They saw us yesterday when we sat together. They were happy. When children of one womb sit together and talk peace, the ancestors nod.

The Oracle of Kifuuta says:

Let us not leave this meeting in the meeting room. Let us carry it in our actions.

If your brother falls, lift him.

If your sister is hungry, feed her.

If your nephew needs school fees, contribute.

That is how Petero Kizza’s name will never die. That is how Senga Tereza’s 100 years will be a blessing to the 5th Generation.

We are one family. One blood. One future. One Kifuuta.

May the God of Heaven and the spirits of Katooke, Kifuuta, Kyotera, Buddu bless Senga Tereza, bless this unity, and make it everlasting.

Tukwatagane, Tulinya ffena.

Long Live Senga Tereza @ 100! Long Live Mutima Omuyanja! Long Live Petero Kizza Wakulanume!

Your Brother in Blood and Spirit – 2nd Generation.
