Namutebi Joweria stole the spotlight with her first hat-trick of the competition, producing a clinical display to guide the Kampala-based giants to their second consecutive win in Group A. The result means Kawempe have collected maximum points from their opening two matches without conceding a goal.

The latest victory comes just a day after Kawempe announced their title ambitions with a ruthless 6-0 demolition of Nakanyonyi SS in their tournament opener. Midfielder Yusra Nambooze netted a brace in that encounter, while Uganda U17 captain Shadia Nabirye, Robinah Nabakooza, Fatumah Nanteza and Nanyunja Kevin also got on the scoresheet.

Having scored nine goals in two matches while keeping back-to-back clean sheets, Kawempe will now shift their focus to Sunday’s final Group A fixture against Tororo Girls, with top spot in the group at stake.

Elsewhere, Kibingo Girls Secondary produced one of the standout performances of the day, brushing aside Trinity College Nabbingo 4-0 with an impressive attacking display.

St. Mary’s Assumpta Girls matched that result by comfortably defeating Kashenshero Girls SS 4-0 in another dominant performance that underlined their championship credentials.

Tororo Girls also remained on course after defeating Nakanyonyi SS 2-0, while Kashenshero Girls SS bounced back from their earlier setback to register a convincing 3-0 victory over Kashenyi SS.

In other matches, Mt. Zion H/S edged Wampeewo Ntake SS 1-0, Panyadoli Self Help defeated Giant SS Bukinda by the same scoreline, and Bwizi SS secured a narrow 1-0 win over St. Catherine Girls Kazo.

Highway SS Kiganda claimed an entertaining 2-1 victory over Kongunga High School, while Kiryandongo High School and Butiiru Christian shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

With the group stage entering its decisive phase, teams will be aiming to secure crucial points as the race for qualification to the knockout rounds of the USSSA U17 Girls National Ball Games II intensifies.
