Mbogo High, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga End Long Waits as USSSA Kampala Ball Games II Qualifiers Conclude

The USSSA Kampala Zonal Qualifiers for Ball Games II climaxed on Friday at Kibuli Secondary School, producing new champions and confirming representatives for the national championship due in Gulu next month.
The biggest upset of the competition came in girls’ volleyball where Mbogo High School dethroned perennial champions Nabisunsa Girls School with a thrilling 3-2 victory in an epic final to claim the Kampala regional crown.
In boys’ volleyball, Kyambogo College emerged champions after overcoming hosts Kibuli SS to lift the title.
Girls’ football also witnessed a shift in power as Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga stunned giants Kawempe Muslim SS 2-0 in the U15 final. Promising midfielder Faith Tuhaise scored both goals to inspire her side to a memorable triumph.
Lubiri Secondary School enjoyed a perfect campaign in boys’ football, capturing both age-category titles. They edged Kakungulu Memorial 1-0 in the U15 final before repeating the same scoreline against Kakungulu Memorial’s U17 side to complete the double.
In netball, Baptist High School maintained their dominance over Kibuli SS, replicating last year’s success with a hard-fought 23-21 victory in the final to retain the Kampala crown.
The national championship will be hosted by Sacred Heart Secondary School, Gulu, from 8th to 18th July 2026.
