Kawempe Muslim SS heads to China for ISF World Cup, Learn Group Opponents
Kawempe Muslim Secondary School has been drawn into a challenging group as Uganda’s representative to the International Schools Sports Federation (ISF) football World Cup, slated to take center stage in China in October this year.
The Ugandan side will face Hong Kong, Germany, and hosts China in the group stage of the tournament.
The flag-off ceremony for Kawempe Muslim SS is scheduled for October 14, 2026, at the Uganda Schools Sports Schools Association (USSSA) head office at GNS Plaza in Kampala.
The team is then set to depart on the morning of October 16, 2026, for the world competition that attracts some of the best young football talents from around the globe.
Kawempe Muslim SS becomes Uganda’s third representative at the ISF World Cup. The first Ugandan team to participate was St Noa Girls, who competed in the 2023 edition hosted in Rabat, Morocco.
Amus College School carried Uganda’s flag in 2024 when the tournament was held in China. This year’s edition will again be hosted by China, continuing the nation’s growing footprint in international school sports.
The team’s participation underscores Uganda’s ongoing commitment to developing football within school systems and providing pathways for young athletes to compete on international stages. The ISF World Cup offers a platform for players to showcase talent, gain exposure, and gain valuable experience against peers from different football cultures.
With the flag-off just days away and departure to follow shortly after, all eyes will be on Kawempe Muslim SS to see how they fare against some of the world’s best young football teams in the 2026 ISF World Cup. The tournament’s outcomes could shape the trajectory of the players involved and reinforce Uganda’s reputation as a rising force in international school sports.
