WWF Among other Organizations Take Part In Open Day Buganda Mini Exhibition

World Wide Fund, the international non-profile organisation aiming at global environment conservation was among the other climate preserving organizations that took part in Buganda Open Day Mini Exhibition that was held at Bulange Gardens in Mengo- Kampala.

The focus of the exhibition was to bring communities and local leaders to one table to discuss and share best practices in reducing plastic waste, keep and consume water and promote conservation traditional best practices that make the identity of East Africa.

Before this exhibition, a week before, the World Wide Fund with government ministries and agencies launched a campaign dubbed total ban on single-use plastics.

Again in this month,WWF Country director David Duri expressed his concern about the misuse of water bodies by locals.

“There is a common saying that water is life which nobody can dispute but that water needs to be safe. It needs to be enough and it also needs to be recycled because water is finite therefore, if it’s not there then you will go into a situation where you don’t have,” he said during an event to celebrate the water week together with the Ministry of water and environment

The outgoing Mayor of Lubaga Municipality and who was the Chief Guest at the event, Owek. Joyce Nabbosa Ssebuggwawo urged Ugandans to value water and environment because they move together.

“Water and Environment go hand in hand. Let us all be vigilant in protecting these resources”. Owekyitibwa Joyce Nabbosa Sebugwawo emphasised.

A number of exhibitors took part in the event and explained how they manufacture homestead materials and items that can help in conserving environment in the country.
