Super Season Ahead ,Women’s League Gets 2.5B Boost from Finance Trust Bank

The stage is set, the stakes are higher, and anticipation is surging as the Finance Trust Women Super League 2025/26 season prepares to get into action this weekend.
With fresh investment, bold ambitions, and renewed commitment, Ugandan women’s football is on the brink of its most competitive season yet.
Sponsors Double Down
Finance Trust Bank, through its Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager Paul Percy Lubega confirmed a massive UGX 2.5 billion investment into this season, with an annual increment promised. The money will strengthen awards, visibility, and club development.
“We call upon fans everywhere to fill the stadiums because we are part of the game,” Lubega said while in the press briefing hosted on Wednesday at the Bank’s head offices in Kampala, thanking customers and partners for supporting the league.
FUFA Gives the Green Light
FUFA’s head of competitions , Hajjat Aisha Nalule assured fans that logistics, licensing, and fixtures are all in place. Each club has received 20 official Janzi Zakayo match balls, alongside better medical, security, and transport support.
“When you give us good players, we shall provide good services. We are ready as FUFA,” she said, adding that every club must field men’s sides for holistic development.
Coaches Sound the Battle Horn
- Kampala Queens (KQ) assistant coach Sharon Kiiza vowed to defend their crown: “Our target is clear — to win back-to-back.”
- Kawempe Muslim’s Ayub Khalifa promised flair and results: “We are here to win every game, not just challenge Kampala Queens.”
- Asubo Ladies’ Kamya admitted financial struggles but said his side is “prepared for the fight despite losing stars.”
- She Makerere’s Fred stressed team spirit over individuals: “We build talents, not just rely on big names.”
- She Maroons’ Mohammed Ahmed said his side is ready after a solid preseason: “We are targeting wins from day one.”
- Uganda Martyrs’ Saka John Oscar revealed a top-three finish is the goal after an impressive buildup.
