FEASSA Games 2025: 10-Man Kawempe Secures a Point as Boni Consilii Fall to Kenyan Side

It was a perfect start for the team Uganda representatives in the 2025 Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association Games that kicked off on Thursday at various grounds in Kakamega Town of Western Kenya. 

This fair start came in football girls category where none of the Uganda’s side out the three which were in action registered a win. 

The three-time East Africa Schools champions, Kawempe Muslim SS shared points with Kenya’s Madira Girls SS in a goalless stalemate held on Thursday at Mukumu Girls SS Field. 

The highly contested encounter saw Kawempe trying all ways to have a good start but Madira was solid enough to resistance the challenge. With nine minutes to full-time, Kawempe Muslims’ forward, Kevin Nanyunja was booked for the second time before change was made and Kawempe remained a man less. 

Ayubu Khalifa’s girls maintained the pressure until the final whistle to leave the pitch with a point.

“Always the opening fixture is not simple, the girls had chances but they didn’t put them away but we’re optimistic that the following fixtures we shall win.” Ayubu Khalifa said after the match. 

The other fixture in group A was not held, St. Noa’s opponents PSSB Huye arrived late in the country and the match was postponed. 

In group B, Uganda’s representatives, Boni Consilii Girls lost their opening fixture 1-0 against Kenya’s Bishop Njenga as Amus College share spoils with Butere Girls in a barren stalemate. 

Kawempe Muslim will return to action on Saturday playing against St. Noa Girls SS.
