Buikwe District USSSA Football Qualifiers: Buwooya Trust Academy Join the Race to test Waters but Now Feel they Can Swim

Buwooya Trust Academy, a school found in Buikwe District are amused of themselves of the level they have reached in the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association football qualifiers especially in their debut year.

The schools director who doubles as the chairperson, Buikwe District football association, Kiwanuka Ali asserted that their main target was to try the championship and see how it will be and expected to stop at first round but the performance of the players caught them by surprise and found themselves at quarter finals.

“It’s our first time to play in USSSA football competition, since we wanted as a school to be good in academics and Sports, we gave out bursaries to children who have talent but with no financial muscle for fees, so far we gave out 30 bursaries and as a school we wanted to test these boys and expected to stop at round one but to our surprise, we reached quarter finals.” Buwooya Trust Academy director confessed.

 In Quarterfinal draws, held mid this week, Buwooya Trust Academy was pitted in group B with Mehta Secondary School, St Mary’s College Lugazi and Rehaboth Integrated School and their fixtures start on Saturday 1st April 2023.
