USSSA Football Qualifiers: Mukono Kings, Latifah Mixed, St Julian, Dynamic Progress To Next Round
Secondary Schools football lovers in Mukono District were on Saturday and Sunday filled with Joy and excitement as the game they love best returned with zonal games played over the weekend.
Mukono District and Greater Mukono Region King, Mukono Kings High School advanced to next round beating Talents College and Romasa 3-0 and 4-2 respectively on Saturday 11th March at Namilyango College.
Dirisa Wasswa bagged a brace while Grace Tendo scored one as Mukono Kings beat Talents College. In the other game, Grace also bagged a brace, Dirisa Wasswa and Douglas Enzama both scored one to register 4-2 against Rhomasa.

In Kambimbiri, Latifah Mixed Secondary School showed class as they thrashed Kasana Vocational and Kikandwa Secondary School by 4-0 and 6-0 respectively before playing to a barren draw with Central College Kabimbiri.
Ivan Ssentongo and Idi Mubiru both netted a brace in their game against Kasana Vocational. Aslam Ssebuufu and Ivan Ssentongo both scored Two while Fahad Ssempijja and Idi Mubiru registered their names on the score sheet as they beat Kikandwa SS.

On Sunday, debutants in Mukono District Secondary Schools Football, St Julian also progressed to next round after defeating their opponents that is Lincoln High School 3-0 and Seeta High Mbalala by 1-0 at Seeta High Mbalala Campus.
Goals from Gideon Jjemba, Halidi Asega and an own goal guided them to a 3-0 victory over Lincoln High School before exciting Ryan Giggs Osinya dribbled and dodged the defense to put the ball at the back of the net to silence Seeta High Mbalala spectators.

Seventeen (17) Schools automatically progressed to the next round as group leaders, where they will be joined by the best fifteen (15) other Schools that finished second in groups to make 32 Schools.
The Thirty-Two Schools will then be grouped in eight (8) groups of four (4).
District and Greater Mukono Region defending champion, Mukono Kings High School, finalist, Kasawo SS, Latifah Mixed SS, Dynamic SS, Royal College Namugongo, Mukono High School, Namilyango College, Namilyango SS, Vision High School Nakifuma, Hamdan Islamic, St Julian High School Ssonde, Good Mark High School St John’s SS, Nile High School, Manhattan, Mpoma Royal College, and Kamdah are the School who automatically progressed.

Schools with chances of advancing to the next round are Central College Kabimbiri (7 points), Vision For Africa (6 points), St Micheal High School (4 points), St John’s Kauga (4 points), Mukono Parents SS (4 points), Mt. St Henry’s (4 points), Omega (3 points), Seroma Christian High School (3 points), Seeta High Mbalala (3 points), Nakanyonyi SS (3 points), Talent College (3 points), St Lawrence Ssonde (3 points), Mubanda SS (3 points), St Balikuddembe (2 points), Seeta College (2 points), Code High School (2 points),
Like last year, Mukono will be represented by five (5) schools at Region, Kayunga, with four (4), while Buikwe will have three (3) schools. Mukono District will host of this year’s Greater Mukono Region edition.
