The two time champions, Kampala University were pitted I’m Group F with the debutants, Isbat University, Bishop Stuart University and Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
Last edition, the Ggaba based University, never escaped quarter finals where they were eliminated by the 10th edition finalists, St Lawrence University but their Sports Tutor, Martha Soigi who was in the attendance in the draws, asserted that the newcomers Isbat University will get a warm welcome but the top of all is to see that KU lifts this year’s title, they last won in 2016 when they beat Nkumba University on final.

“The draws were held today, I am in a group with MUST, Bishop Stuart and Isbat, they have just come and we shall give them a warm welcome. So according to how I performed last season, I will make it out of the group and even to win the title because that’s the target.” She said.
She added; I have tried to recruit more new and good players, just know that we are set for this season, yes the knockouts of last year reached when my good players like my captain Tumusiime were graduating but this is the reason as to why we bring these players, it’s to give them education as well as lifting their talents.
