FWSL: ‘Feel it Too’, Allen Nassazi Strikes As Kawempe Avenges Against UCU

Allen Nassaazi scored the only goal that collected maximum points for Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC as the second round of the 2022/23 season returns on Saturday at Kawempe Muslim Playground.
The goal came only four minutes into the second half of the game and finally won the day.
A layman could say, it was a perfect revenge for Kawempe Muslim against UCU Lady Cardinals, the latter came at the valley and won the game 1-0 last season, and Jackie Nakasi scored that late goal which is still paining the hearts of Kawempe fans.
Kawempe Muslim Ladies had a good game through out the entire 90 minutes with few moments for the visitors.
Ayub coached side had at least four clear chances to gain a lead in the first stanza but not clinical enough. Allen Nassaazi, Shakirah Nyinagahirwa and Hadija Nandago had open opportunities but converted none.
With seven minutes to end the first stanza, Bridget Nabisaalu had a brilliant chance to put UCU in the lead but her effort went over the bar.
In second stanza, Kawempe kept the momentum with well functioning midfield that had Esther Nangendo who had her first game this season, Rhoda Nanziri, and Phiona.
In the 49th minute, Allen beat helpless Hadija Nalongo and pressed the ball at the far post. UCU’s defence failed to clear the ball and Allen punished them.
“I am happy for the three points, we have worked for them, they are of great importance to us as we are going out to Olila but we need to convert more of our chances because both teams have been playing well, and what has helped us to win the game is by scoring first which has lifted our momentum in second half. But I thank the players because they worked as a team, they defended together and attacked together.” Says Coach Moses Nkata of Kawempe Muslim.
Kawempe registered their third win of the season and moved to 13 points, the side will be paying a long visit to Soroti to play against Olila High.
Before heading into the game, UCU had hopes of chasing on the title but the loss has been a big set back for the Ahumuza Collins coached side.
“We didn’t start well but hope, next games we will be a different side and hope to win, yes we lost a bit of confidence and since Kawempe were at home, they were confident and they noticed our weaknesses a d punished us.” Says Collins.
In the same game, Shadia Nankya who head operation last year returned on the pitch.
In other game of the day, Lady Doves lost to Olila High School by a goal to none, Galenda Sheila scored for Olila.
