FWSL: Kawempe Muslim, UCU Lady Cardinals Face Off as 2nd Round Returns

Nearly two months of break,the FUFA Women’s Super League returns to action on Saturday  morning with two fixtures on menu.

The much anticipated encounter will be between Kawempe Muslims and Mukono based side UCU Lady Cardinals.

The four time elite league champions, Kawempe Muslim come into this game having struggled in first round of the league with only two wins in nine games.

However, the Valley Warriors will have a chance to improve their poor performance they had in the first round of the league as they face off with Lady Cardinals.

In his prematch interview, the Valley Warriors tactician, Ayub Khalifa expressed the confidence he has in his team to take the maximum points.

“We are at home and we want to use the home advantage to win the game.” Says Khalifa.”The team now has gained some experience and I think it can help us to win the game.”

“My team performed well in first round, the wins never came as we expected as Kawempe community but as a coach , I think ,the team looked good in terms of display.

Six points separates the two sides, Ahumuza Collins coached side sit third on the log with sixteen points and they will be hoping to collect maximum points from the Valley like they did in their previous visit at the same venue.

Last season at the Valley, UCU walked away with the maximum points, thanks to Jackie Nakasi late strike, though the scorer switched to She Corporate.

The first round ended in a one all draw at UCU, this will be the first time Ahumuza Collins returning at the valley as the head coach of another team facing his former tactician. Collins was a player at Kawempe Muslim.

UCU need to bank on Ashait Naluggwa’s first round brilliant form, the winger has seven goals while Kawempe Muslim will need Hadija Nandago and Shakirah Nyinagahirwa to be at their top form.

The other game of the day ,will be the Masindi based side Lady Doves hosting Olila High School WFC.
