FJL: Rays of Grace End Winless Streak With Win Against Wakiso Giants

Rays of Grace Academy, ended the much dreaded run without a win, mastering a deserved 3-1 victory over Wakiso Giants FC Junior Team in the FUFA Juniors League (FJL), that is, in the Buganda Region Football Associations on Wednesday 14th, December 2022 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Before Wednesday, Rays of Grace have been without a win in their last three games but took the chances when they came against the Wakiso Giants FC Junior Team.

‘Win The Day’ (Rays of Grace), as they are dubbed, opened the scoring in the 14th minute, with Ryan Osinya tapping in at close range courtesy of a pass from Frank Ssekanjako.

Jimmy Kyagulanyi made it 2-0 for the side coached by Micheal Kabali, netting from the penalty spot after Frank Ssekanjako was brought down in the penalty area in the 68th minute.

In the 74th minute, the 2022 FEASSSA Primary Schools Boys Football category top scorer, James Ssekate, struck one beautifully into the top right corner to put the game to bed, making it 3-0.

In the 76th minute, Wakiso Giants FC Junior Team netted a consolation goal through Thomas Kyeyune’s penalty following a handball in the penalty area, leading to the 3-1 final scoreline.

The win moves Rays of Grace Academy into fourth place on the log with eight (8) points, three (3) behind current leaders, Janan Soccer Academy, and one (1) behind the second and third placed teams, that is, URA FC Junior Team and Vipers SC Junior Team respectively.

Rays of Grace Academy made two substitutes on the day, with Akram Karaja and William Kasozi coming on for Isaac Kakululu and James Ssekate in the 58th minute and the 85th minute respectively.

Jimmy Kyagulanyi, James Ssekate and John Mukasa received yellow cards on the day.

Rays of Grace Academy will, on Saturday 17th, December 2022, take on Buddo Soccer Academy at the Buddo Secondary School playground in their next FJL fixture.
