Women Football: Jean Sseninde United Holds a Successful One Day Football Clinic

Jean Sseninde through her club and the Academy, Jean Sseninde United Women’s Football Club held a one day football clinic on Saturday at St Peters SS Nsambya.

The former Crystal Palace, Crested Cranes defender and the club CEO, Jean Sseninde believes that through such football clinics like the one they held today at St Peters, girls can continue believe in themselves as well as learning more football skills because they are the grassroots.

“Football is for everyone and we believe anyone in Uganda can play football, we are hoping, the year girls are the grassroots, we look after these girls, that we believe in them and they believe in themselves. So we have them here because we believe here is a safe place and they can get more football skills. ” Jean Sseninde, the Club CEO revealed to this website. 

 

The one day clinic, the first it’s kind in her programs has attracted over eighty girls from her Academy, schools, kids from Nsambya and surrounding clubs.

These girls went through different drills with professional Academy coaches, the ball passing skills, dribbling, ball control among other skills.

The event was attended by the Minister for Kampala Hajjat Minsa Kabanda and the Uganda Olympic Committee president Dr. Donald Rukare who encouraged girls to take football not for granted because it can take them miles.

Since last year, Jean and her colleagues have been moving to different parts of the country spreading the football gospel and that of their club.

Currently Jean Sseninde Academy has different training centres including that of St Peters SS Nsambya.
