USSSA Girls’ Football: Suzan Nalukoda Impresses at Knockout Stage as Kampala Region Champions Storm Semis

The promising defender, Suzan Nalukoda impressed at the knockout stage and is one of the reason as to why Kawempe Muslim SS again is the semifinals of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association National championship underway at Sacred Heart School in Gulu City. 

The left back header at the quarter final level against resilient Mukono based side, Bishops SS stood to be the winner as Kawempe Muslim SS propelled to semifinal which is to be honored on Monday.

With her great display today, earlier at round of sixteen, Kawempe Muslim SS hammered Acaba Girls 6-0 and Nalukoda alone scored three goals, the rest were scored by Hadija Nandago, Shakira Nyinagahirwa and Phiona Nabulime.

The left back while speaking to this website, she attached her performance to teamwork and the love they have towards winning this year’s title.

“Well it has been hard to reach to this stage but still I believed we can make it as a team, our sole target is to win the title, and yes today I scored four goals, three at round of 16 and one at quarter final, but all that came as a result of co-operation with my teammates. ” Suzan Nalukoda said. 

Nalukoda was also happy for the hat trick, the first in her life and a rare one for defenders like her.

Kawempe Muslim SS team that won the Kampala region title

The Kampala region representatives and finalists, Kawempe Muslim SS (Champion) and Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga all reached semifinal stage and their is a possible of the two meeting again, that’s if both win their semifinal encounters.

Martyrs to react semifinal, they beat King of Kings by a goal to none, thanks to Shamusa Najjuma second half only strike.

Kawempe Muslim will be meeting Rines SS while Martyrs and St Noa Girls School Zzana will battle for final slot and the two games will be played at 9am before the final slated for 3pm at Peece Stadium in Gulu.

Tomorrow, Monday is the final day of the 2022 USSSA National Post Primaries- Girls Football and Prime Minister, Rt.Hon. Robinah Nabbanja expected to be the guest of honor.
