USSSA Ball Games II 2024 Climax: ‘You’re still too weak to be our Match’, Kitende Thumps Buddo to Win 18th Trophy

St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende continues to hurt hates when they thumped Buddo SS in the netball final held at Soroti Sports Ground on Wednesday.
At the climax of the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association Ball Games II championship, St Mary’s Kitende found no serious challenge in thumping their fellow Wakiso region giants, Buddo SS in a one sided show.
The game ended 34-24 in favour of Kitende. From the start, Kitende was in control of the match despite the fact that the centre pass was for Buddo.
Kitende won the first quarter 8-5, they continued with the performance and at halftime break, they were seven goal lead, Buddo Tactician, Jesse Assiimwe tried to make tactical changes but that didn’t help and the final whistle, Kato Hassan girls were 10 goals above.
St Mary’s Kitende will laud goal-shooter Dalaia Nabbowa, goal-attacker Aisha Nakuya, Teopista Achieng (Goalkeeper), Joan Rycoboth (center), Khadala Nashimu (wing defender) and the diligent Nathema Sumaiya (winger attacker) for the brave collective team effort.
This has been the repeat of the 2012 final and in that year, Kitende was the winner.
Kitende continued her dominance, winning the 18th trophy in 21 years.
It’s only Gombe SS and St Julian Gayaza that managed to deny Kitende to lift the trophy. And this was in 2007 and 2013 respectively.
Kawanda SS won the bronze medal after beating St Noa in the third place playoff.
Meanwhile, in other disciplines, Buddo SS consoled the championship with a gold medal and trophy from basketball boys 3*3, the side won the trophy after beating Mbogo Mixed on final with a 12-10 scoreline.
St Noa Girls Zzana who never made it to the final of Netball after losing to eventually losing finalist, Buddo, they thumped Nabisunsa Girls 13-02 in final of basketball girls 3*3.
Bukedea Comprehensive won their maiden championship trophy in volleyball girls after beating St Elizabeth from Mbarara 3-2 in an epic final played at Teso College Aloet grounds.
Mbogo High beat Kawanda SS on final to win the girls handball trophy before Wampeewo Ntake thumps Ntare school to walk home with a boys handball silverware.
In rugby, Jinja SSS won in boys while Nkoma did it in girls.
State minister for sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang was the guest of honour at the closing ceremony.
