St Joseph’s Nyenga Seminary to Celebrate 100 Years of Existence in 2024, Launched Held in Lugazi

The minor Seminary in Nyenga Parish,  Lugazi Diocese that has nurtured a number of elites in the country and those in the religious sector for a number of good years since 1924, St Joseph’s Nyenga Seminary School will be celebrating 100 years of existence next year 2024. 

St.Joseph’s Nyenga Seminary Schools Day was held on 25th-March 2023 and also the Celebrations of the 100yrs of existence of the School was launched on that same day.

The institution has been a strong pillar in producing Seminarians who left and joined Major Seminaries to become Priests.

The Function on Saturday started with the inspection of Scouts Parades by the Old Boy of the Seminary Hon.Minister JC Muyingo who was the Guest of Honor and later at 10am the Function started with a Mass which was led by the Ordinary Bishop of Lugazi Diocese Bishop Christopher Kakooza.

And after the Mass the Contribution towards Finishing of the Monument Building which will be Opened next year during the Celebrations of The Seminary and Hon.JC Muyingo Contributed 10millions on the cause and in his speech, the minister for high education, revealed that it’s the seminary that nurtured him and it’s teachings never left is head.

Vicar General Msgr.Richard Kayondo who triples as the Vicar of the Diocese and Chairman Board of Governors as well as an Old Student led the Old students to also Contribute towards the Cause,the acting Rector of the Seminary Rev.Fr.Kyanze Frank argued the parents and Catholic community to be supportive towards the Seminary 100yrs Celebrations.

The seminary still needs more financial support towards the construction of the monument that they need to be ready for the Celebrations next year.
