Lyantonde FC Rejuvenated, To Feature in FUFA Third Tier this Season

Due to scarcity of football in Lyantonde community, a number of sports people are celebrating to recover their lost team in late 1999.

Lyantonde football club was in Uganda super league in 1999 but due to limited resources and funding was sold to URA and was called Lyantonde URA and after two years Lyantonde was smashed and URA took over up to date.

The team has been re-launched on Saturday at Ssaza ground in Kabula Lyantonde district.

The community based team Lyantonde football club will not be the same like in  previous years.

Among the wise men in control of the team is  Mr Nyanzi Umar the chairman of team said that ” we are happy that our team is back, this means that this time a round we are going to have collective responsibility as community in order to sustain the team and our number one supporter is our fans in Lyantonde as community”.

He also added that ” as senior citizens in Lyantonde a lot of benefits Will be gained to those who will move with the team, both players and the entire community through doing community works and giving out scholarships to the players and this was done to bring back the pride of Lyantonde on the Ugandan map as far as football in concerned “.

The team currently have interim committee which consist of thirteen members and these include the following

1. Nyanzi Umar (chairman)

2. Kazibwe Jamil (manager)

3. Mayimuna Mutasa (assistant manager)

4. Kyome Moses (operation manager)

5. Abdul Karim Salim (board member)

6. Joweria Nabaale (board member)

7. Lusambya Solomon (board member).

Coaching staff

1. Nsibambi Hakim Head coach and will be assisted by coach Max . Doctor Sam Muna will be the team Doctor and Kateregga Edward . Mubiru Moses Will act as a kits manager and Mutebi Musa is the publicity of the team

The team is expected to register for third tier this season.
