FEASSA Games 2024 | Netball: Kawanda Frustrates Buddo as Kitende Schools Noa

Kawanda SS avenges against Buddo SS in the FEASSA game honored on Tuesday at Bukedea Primary School.
The side beat USSSA ball games II losing finalists Buddo SS 41-40 in an epic encounter enjoyed by many at Bukedea.
Kawanda SS took the lead from the first quarter leading it 11-08, they maintained their lead at the half time break, they stretched lead to six goals, 21-15.
Buddo SS tried to bounce back in the third quarter leading it 13-11 but Kawanda who were on revenge mission continued with their lead to the final minute.
The last quarter was an epic one, Buddo again won that quarter with a score of 12-11 and with 30 seconds to the final whistle, Buddo leveled and went to 40 up but immediately before the last whistle, Kawanda separated the tie and took the two points.
In the last two quarters, two Kawanda players were suspended for two minutes each for dangerous plays and these were Kasewa Fidah and Angel Giri and they costed Kawanda in the last two quarters as their tactician, Sserugga Charles.
“I have come prepared this time, I saw the errors we did while in Nationals, I am happy for the girls for beating the strongest team in the squad.”
“Yes the suspension of my two players cost us because in those last two quarters, it’s when the opponent closed the margin but again, I thank my players for containing them until we won the game. The fact is, we have come for the trophy. ” Sserugga Charles said.
Kawanda SS lost to Buddo SS at District level but they avenged.
Two teams make it out of the group and now Kawanda tops the group with four points in two matches. The side shall be playing against Bumala AC SSS from Kenya tomorrow while Buddo SS will try to bounce back while playing GS Gahini from Rwanda.
Meanwhile, earlier on, the defending champions, St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School found no serious hurdle to hummer St Noa Girls 53-40.
