Kitara FC have opened ticket sales for their CAF Confederation Cup showdown against Egyptian giants Al Ahly, with the Royals targeting a capacity crowd at Hoima City Stadium.

The first-leg encounter is scheduled for October 17, with Ordinary tickets maintained at Shs20,000, while VIP tickets will cost Shs100,000.

The ticket sales were launched on Thursday at Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala by Kitara president Deo Kasozi, who confirmed that all tickets will be sold online.

“All tickets will be sold online,” Kasozi said. “Though most of our fans are in the countryside, they have smartphones. For those who may face challenges purchasing tickets, we have put outlets and agents in Hoima City to help them.”

Kitara Events and Marketing Manager Andrew Mega Kaahwa said supporters can purchase tickets through the Book Ticket platform by following the available prompts.

The Royals are targeting an even bigger turnout after attracting 15,061 spectators for their previous continental fixture against Mogadishu City, coming close to the 17,000 attendance capacity authorised for matches at Hoima City Stadium.

Against Mogadishu City, Kitara charged Shs20,000 for Ordinary tickets and Shs50,000 for VIP access. The club has therefore maintained the cheapest ticket category while doubling the VIP price for the Al Ahly encounter.

Kasozi said the online ticketing system is intended to improve convenience and avoid congestion at the stadium gates.

He also assured supporters that measures have been put in place to prevent a repeat of the scenes witnessed during Uganda’s recent home fixture against Libya.

The Al Ahly clash will be another major continental occasion for Hoima City Stadium, which recently hosted Uganda’s 1-0 victory over Libya in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on September 29.

Kitara will need to negotiate both legs successfully against Al Ahly to reach the CAF Confederation Cup group stage for the first time in the club’s history.
