Bika Football Tournament Climax: Ngabi Nsamba in Five Star Lane, Mpindi Misses out

The 2024 Bika Football Tournament officially climaxed on Saturday at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku with Ngabi Nsamba lifting their fifth shield in history after beating Mpindi 1-0 in the final match.
The goal for Ngabi Nsamba that won them the shield they last lifted in 2013 was scored by Viane Ssekajugo in the 07th minute of thr first half. It was a well build up goals and it came out as the winner of the day.
Hassan Matovu, the goalkeeper for Ngabi made his side doesn’t lose the lead with a number of outstanding saves he made in both halves.
The win took Ngabi to the five shields since the Inception of the tournament in 1950. They first won it in 1951 before returning for it in 1987, 2007 and 2013.
Mpindi, the losing finalists has the shield two times, that’s: 1996 and 2006.
Omutima Omusaji won the bronze medal for another time after beating Nkima 1-0 in the third place playoff game played in the afternoon.
The winner of Bika Football shield, Ngabi Nsamba got prize money of nine million shillings, the first runners up, Mpindi took seven million, Omutima Omusaji won 5 millions, then the fourth placed side Nkima walked away with three million shillings.
Mpindi’s Allan Mugalu named the MVP of the tournament, Isaac Mpagi of Nsenene was the top scorer with five goals, , Dennis Kiggundu of Nkima was the best goalkeeper and the fair play award went to Njaza clan.
Meanwhile, Nyonyi Nyange were the champions of Netball tournament.
