Stanbic Uganda Cup Kampala Region R16: Katwe United Dumped Out As Impala Hill Continues with Fine Form
The just relegated Big League side, Katwe United never made it to round of eight of Stanbic Uganda Cup Kampala Region preliminary games after being silenced by PCCP in a 2-1 encounter yesterday.
Through Twaha Lubega own goal, PCCP got a lead five minutes before half time.
Chrishunter Walukagga leveled the matters in the 69th minute to give Katwe hope that maybe they can push it to spot kicks but Kawooya Muhammad cut off former’s huge hope when he netted the winner, four minutes to fulltime.
The Allan Kabonge coached side, Impala Hill, transferred the fine form they have in the league and beat Edgar’s FC 1-0 to progress to round of eight, the only goal for the side was scored by Pariyo Ash Calvin in the 70th minute.
In other games, Kireka Young beat struggling Fire Fire FC by 2-1, thanks to Kiyingi Mashid (19) and Mutalya Ayub (70) goals, the only one for Fire Fire FC was scored by Fahad Sempijja in the 26th minute.
Zion FC thumped, Kawempe Dream 5-0, on the same day, NEC FC beat Kansanga Half by a goal to none, it needed a penalty shootout for Ex Villa FC to qualify to round eight following a barren draw against Nakivubo Boys.
Meanwhile, in Buganda Region, two games were not played on round of sixteen, among those; Seeta United vs Busiro United, Free Stars and Kampala University Masaka FC.
However, in the honored fixtures, Kawoomya FC lost 2-0 to Five Star FC as Tiger Stars lose to Manyangwa 5-3 on penalty shootouts following a barren draw in normal time.
