International Transfer: Uganda’s U18 Skipper, Lugazi SA Graduate Joins TZ’s Top-flight Side

The Lugazi Soccer Academy graduate and Uganda Under 18 CECAFA winning captain, Anguti Louis Amagu completed his first professional move to Tanzania premier League side.

The 18-year old player joined Coastal Union FC on a two year employment contract, the deal sealed last week in Tanzania and the player is expected to work as a link between Coastal Union and Lugazi Soccer Academy. 

According to sources from Lugazi Soccer Academy, this deal has created a relationship between Lugazi and Coastal Union the side that’s now looking at concentrating on youthful products and Lugazi is expecting to move many graduates to the side. 

For starters, Anguti was also part of KCCA FC U20 side that won the Cambiasso Cup that was held in Tanzania two years ago.

Last year, he played a vital role for the Uganda U-18 national team as they clinched the CECAFA U-18 Boys championship at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kenya.  

His new club that finished 4th last season is based in Tanga and hosting their home matches at Mkwakwani 

They will feature at this year’s CECAFA Kagame Cup and will also represent Tanzania in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. 

Brief:

Anguti started his football career at Lugazi Soccer Academy that was incepted by Rev. Father, Doctor Gerald Bwenvu, passed through the hands of coach Kizza Joseph and Ifiti Gerald who helped Lugazi FC get promoted to UPL. 

He studied at Standard High Zzana student and Buddo SS, he was part of Buddo’s team that played in Feasssa games in Kenya in 2022.

He played for Lugazi FC and he scored the only goal that brought Lugazi FC in big league (1-0) against Kajjansi United at Kavumba.

He played under 18 CECAFA and won it while in Kenya

Tanzanians have been tracking his performance and finally signed for Coastal Union.
