Bika Football Tournament: Mpindi Stops Nkima, Ngabi on Final, Mutima Musaggi Gets a ‘Serious Heartbreak’

The 2024 Bika Football Tournament that kicked off late in April this year, nears climax after finding the finalists on Sunday.
Ngabi Nsamba and Mpindi will face off in the 2024 Bika bya’Baganda football competition final after their semi-final triumph.
The semi-finals were held at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Sunday, the 2nd June.
The stadium had a double header of Mpindi playing 2018 champions, Nkima at 2PM while Mutima Musaggi and Ngabi Nsamba had the last show of the day.
The first game saw Mpindi stopping the high flying Nkima, Ronald Ssembuya scored the only goal that won Mpindi a game and completed their revenge against the side that denied them a Shield in 2018, a final held in Butambala.
The goal came in the 47th minute of second half, the boy headed far post to send his team into early celebrations.
The last semi-final duel was between Ngabi Nsamba and Omutima Musaggi. Ngabi Nsamba won the highly contested tie 2-1.
Fahim Ssaka scored for Omutima Omussagi while Bruno Bunyaga grabbed a brace for Ngabi Nsamba.
In the 49th minute, Fahim Ssaka gave Omutima Musaggi the lead with a clinical finish when the Ngabi defenders failed to clear the ball off the danger area and gave chance to Ssaka to use the redundant ball for a good use.
However, celebrations were short lived as forward Bruno Bunyaga levelled matters on restart of play in the 50th minute.
The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) forward, Bunyaga sealed his brace and a win for Ngabi Nsamba in the 90+2 minutes into the game to send Ngabi Nsamba to final.
Mpindi won Bika shield in 1996 and 2006.
Meanwhile, Ngabi Nsamba have won this championship four times in 1951, 1987, 2007 and lately 2013.
This year’s final will be held on 8th June 2024 at a Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
