UPL: Who’s Better at Football Tactics, No Guns as NEC Looking at Bouncing Back at Winning Ways against UPDF

After losing their previous league game to SC Villa, NEC FC will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they host UPDF FC on Friday evening at MTN-Omondi Stadium.

UPDF FC have had a poor start in the Uganda Premier League season collecting only one point in the opening three games. They played to a goalless draw with URA FC and lost to Kitara FC and Wakiso Giants.

The Military boys are yet to score a league goal this season and they are eager to break this goalless streak against the league debutants, NEC FC.

While NEC FC is aiming to bounce back from a 3-0 defeat to SC Villa in Wankulukuku. It was their first league defeat since Hussein Mbalangu joined the Bugolobi-based side.

NEC FC has had a perfect start in their debut season in the top flight, collecting six points in three matches. They managed to hold off Mbarara City and even secured a resounding 5-0 victory against Busoga United at MTN Philip Omondi Stadium.

A victory for NEC FC, will take them to 9 points with current table leaders and positions will be determined on other results from other games.

With only one point above the relegation, a win for UPDFC will take them to 8th position if SC Villa lose tonight’s game to Vipers SC.

NEC FC will be without Defender Brian Mato, Ismail Magada is also ruled out but they’re boosted with the return of Enock Ssebagala who missed the last two games.

UPDF FC will miss defender Oyirwoth Daglas, Arafat Kakonge, Robert Eseru and goalkeeper Okidi Jimmy due to injuries. while Ezekiel Katende is back and expected to play.
