The 4Bn Shillings Worth Kamwokya Community Sports Centre Officially Open For Use
On Tuesday, the Kamwokya Community Sports Centre, a four billion shillings project was officially launched and handed over to the Kamwokya Community.
The multipurpose sports center whose establishment was fully funded by the Ameropa Foundation, an organization based in Germany.
The Centre was designed to accommodate all indoor games, the likes of Netball, futsal, handball, volleyball, basketball, the same centre will be hosting other community activities like wedding parties, meetings, and others.

Uganda Boxing Federation President, Moses Muhangi was the guest of honor.
President Ameropa Foundation- Celine Miescher thanked the workers who worked tirelessly to see that the centre come to completion, she revealed that at least 70 workers were at the project and 15 of them were women.

“I thank you for working with us in the project, it had a number of workers who saw this work done, and we are happy that want we wanted to see is now visible.”
The guest of honor, Moses Muhangi thanked the foundation for having a centre for disadvantaged people but rich in talent, the Ghetto people, he also requested the foundation not to end at Kamwokya but also to move to other ghetto places like Bwaise, Kalerwe and others.

“it’s good for Kamwokya Community, even the government of Uganda doesn’t have this, serve Namboole.
So I ask Ameropa, don’t stop here, even other areas need this, Kawempe, Bwaise and the like. The only survival for Youths now is sports.
I am a boy from Kamwokya, grown up from here and I am happy to see that we have such a facility here, it will help to grow the talents in Ghetto, Ghetto is a centre of talents, we saw a number of talents from here, the likes of Bobi Wine.
As the boxing federation president, we shall see how we can help, I want to see Kamwokya gets a community boxing club, not for an individual but for a community and we shall be giving them equipment.” Muhangi spoke.

“This is a project that started in 2021, we thank God that finally we are done,it has been been a very successful project, it has costed our partners four billion shillings, this is a facility that is going to accommodate all the indoor games apart from the few, we are very grateful to our partners, this is a facility for the disadvantaged people. ” Said Mbaziira Francis, the Facility Director.
“Now the facility is in place but we are still lacking materials to put in the facility, we don’t have furniture, balls and other equipment to use, so we ask whoever can help to continue giving us support. ” He added.
