The Site Monthly Boxing Awards: Kanabi Wins August Accolade

Recognising excellence in sports is the way to go, The Site, an online TV [YouTube channel] thought it important to award the best performers in the sport of boxing and on Tuesday at Wide Travel Deals International LTD located at Buganda Road- Kampala held their fourth awarding ceremony.

After falling out to win the Site boxer for the month of July following his controversial win over Nerrick Tumusiime, Alex Kanabi from KCCA Boxing Club finally voted the best The Site boxer of the month of August. 

His fight against Serugo Bashir aka Horse Power earned him a ticket to the nominees list where he was voted as the best for the month of August. Kanabi beat off the competition from Kato Kazibwe from Kololo Boxing Club,Kasasa Isaac of Katabi Boxing Club, Zahara Nandawula and Leon Kiguddu of Lukanga BC. 

According to the criteria, the boxer with the majority votes , automatically becomes the best boxer for that month.

The voting chart after the deadline day, Kanabi won with 1,512 votes giving him a total percentage of 45.65, Kato Kazibwe from Kololo BC came second with 1,302 votes giving him 39.31 percent, Kasasa Isaac from Katabi BC had 240 votes giving him 7.25 percent, Zahara Nandawula from Lukanga BC had 172 votes giving her 5.19 percent and Leon Kiggundu from Lukanga BC coming last with 86 votes giving him 2.6 percent.

Kanabi who was accompanied by her elder sister, Phiona Nana plus his fans walked away with accolade and brown envelope. 

Kanabi ,is the fourth boxer to be awarded by The Site since the Award’s inception in the month of May 2025.

Reagan Magumba from Lukanga was the inaugural winner, Kasasa Isaac from Katabi winning the second and Mulungi Kasim from East Coast won the third.

Edwin Atukwase from Wide Travel Deals International, the current award sponsors stated that the main aim of this award is to motivate the boxers.
