Netball Elections 2021: The Wave Storms Netball, Leave Incumbents on ‘Life Supporting Machines’
None from the previous leadership managed to bounce back and the only one who tried to collect a big number of votes was Alice Alwenyi who was contesting on the General Secretary Post, she got 68 votes but her opponent, Aminah Mande garnered 158.
The former Member of Parliament representing the Youths from Buganda in the 10th Parliament Hon. Sarah Babirye Kityo elected as the next president of the Uganda Netball Federation for a tenure of four years.
Hands down she beat her two Competitors in the race that is Former She Cranes Manager Jocelyn Ucanda and Christine Nampijja, a teacher at Trinity College Nabbingo.
Sarah Babirye got 184 votes while her close opponent and the former She Cranes Manager Jocelyn Ucanda garnered 41 votes and Christine Nampijja got 05 votes and the invalid ones were only two.
The team Sarah Babirye swept all the positions by 100% and that of Ucanda and the most were incumbent did not get any post in the new Executive.

“Winning this elections, it has been God, first of all basing on what is going on in the country, this elections wouldn’t be held today. But it had been.
I thank the delegates, the fact is they trusted me, they gave me all the people I required even when I was not known this side apart from the Corporate games i was been engaging in, Team Babirye taking all the seats is not a simple statement .” Sarah Babirye told Media after winning the race.
“So I request all those we have been contesting with to join us because we need them in developing the game.“
