Women Football: Change of Kick-off Time For Super League Games, No Evening Matches

The Uganda football governing body, FUFA, has made adjustments in Kick-off time of the Women Super League games slated to commence tomorrow, Monday at Njeru technical Center in Buikwe District.

The earlier fixture communicated that each match day will be with two games on card played at 2PM and 4PM at the same ground.

But this communique came before FUFA realized that the games will be live on TV.

Since it’s confirmed that all FUFA Women’s Super League and Elite League games are going to be live on Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) TV, to fit in their programming, the kick off time was adjusted from 2PM and 4PM to 9am and 12noon respectively.

This communication was made by FUFA competitions department yesterday.

FUFA has partnered among others with the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) TV to have all FWSL and FWEL league matches live on UBC TV.

In order to facilitate and enable this live coverage, it is necessary to adjust the match kickoff time as follows;

Morning matches: 9am

Afternoon Matches: 12 noon.” FUFA wrote to respective clubs.

This will be the first league season to be broadcasted live on TV since the establishment of women league football in Uganda in 2014.

The league which will be in gala format commences on Monday 19 April 2021 with two matches, and the opening fixture is between Makerere University and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC and later on, Kawempe Muslim Ladies and Kampala Queens.

The first group report at Njeru on Sunday, and it has five clubs, that is; Kampala Queens, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, Makerere University WFC, Tooro Queens and Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC.
