The Uganda Premier League served up drama on Matchday Two, with debutants UPPC FC pulling off a thrilling comeback against Lugazi United, while Bul FC edged past Maroons in a cagey encounter.
At the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, Bul FC secured their first win of the season with a narrow 1–0 victory over Maroons. Ibrahim Mugulusi proved to be the difference, firing home in the 38th minute after a neat build-up.
The Luzira-based side pushed hard for an equalizer, but Bul held firm to claim maximum points. The result lifts them to four points from two games, following their opening-day goalless draw against URA FC.
Meanwhile, at Entebbe Bugonga Fisheries Grounds, newcomers UPPC FC stunned Lugazi United with a spirited 2–1 comeback win.
Lugazi, buoyed by their opening-day triumph over Calvary FC, looked in control when Freedom Mungudit struck in the 24th minute to give them a deserved halftime lead.
But the second half belonged to the Abdullah-coached UPPC side. Former KCCA midfielder Isa Mubiru restored parity in the 63rd minute, igniting belief among the home faithful. With just eight minutes left, ex-Vipers forward Fazil Tumwine delivered the killer blow, slotting home the winner to complete a memorable turnaround.
The result handed the Printers their first-ever UPL victory, bouncing back strongly from a disappointing debut loss to Buhimba.
UPPC will now test their mettle on the road against SC Villa at FUFA Kadiba Stadium in Mengo, while Bul face another tricky away trip to Rwamwanja Stadium to take on Mbarara City.
