Crested Cranes and St. Noa Girls forward Sylvia Kabene has completed a high-profile transfer to Maltese top-tier side Hibernians Paola FC, signing a two-year contract that will keep her at the club until 2027.

The deal comes with a comprehensive package that includes academic continuity, housing, medical care, and a lucrative salary — underlining the club’s commitment to supporting both her football and personal development.

Kabene leaves St. Noa Girls Football Club (GFC) after an outstanding spell in which she played a pivotal role in guiding the side to promotion to the FUFA Women Super League and securing the FUFA Women Elite League title last season. Her performances earned her the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the Elite League.

At the school level, Kabene has been instrumental in St. Noa Girls Secondary School – Zana’s dominance, winning two FEASSA championships and two USSSA National titles. Over just four years, she amassed an incredible 98 goals for both the school and club sides.

On the international stage, the prolific striker has already made her mark. Kabene has featured for all national team age categories — U17, U20, and the senior Crested Cranes — netting 11 goals across the levels.

Her move to Europe marks another milestone in Uganda’s growing footprint in women’s football, and Kabene will now look to translate her lethal scoring touch to the Maltese league.
