Lugazi Diocese Schools Championship: St Kalemba too Good for the Hosts, Sets Final with St Joseph Namagunga

The first edition of the Lugazi Diocese Schools Sports championship nears climax after finding the top two sides to fight for the glory on the day yet to be confirmed.
The action resumed yesterday at St Joseph’s Naggalama playground and two stages were honored on the day, that’s quarter final and semifinals.
St Mathias Kalemba from Kayunga District looked too good for the hosts, St Joseph’s Naggalama in the last semifinal of the day, Kalemba comfortably beat St Joseph’s 2-0 to seal slot in the finals of the first edition.
Babu Muran and Kasango Zahidu scored the two goals in the last half to secure well deserved victory for the side.
St Mathias Kalemba who came at the knockout stage with 100% record from the group stages, they have maintained their performance and at the quarters, they outsmarted Namilyango College beating the latter 1-0, thanks for Babu Muran’s first half strike.
In the other semifinal, St Joseph Namagunga found no serious hurdle to beat Seat of Wisdom 2-0, Kikomeko Israel and Acidri Vincent were on target for the side.
The final which will be between St Mathias Kalemba and St Joseph Namagunga shall be honored on the date and the venue to be confirmed by the organizers.
For starters, the Lugazi Diocese Schools Sports Association under the leadership of Lugazi Diocese Education Department started this championship to give opportunity to talents from Catholic based schools that rarely feature in national championships.
And the first edition saw 18 Catholic based schools taking part in the championship.
